On-Campus Job Opportunity: OUS is looking for a Story & Experience Intern

Villanova's Office for Undergraduate Students is seeking a Story and Experience Intern to delve deep into the daily lives of our student’s journeys. This exciting opportunity will provide a student with the chance to interview their fellow students, produce written human interest stories, photograph interesting complementary images for inclusion on those stories, and increase OUS’s social engagement through these student-story focused lenses.

Requirements:
• Current full-time undergraduate student in good academic standing seeking a for credit internship opportunity.
• Highly engaging writing style with both creative flourish and grammatical polish.
• Outgoing and engaging personality with the ability to easily converse with new people.
• Ability to work independently with a focus on deadlines and content creation.
• Creative thinking and flexibility.
• Availability to work during office hours and occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

Fall Internship Opportunity: Macmillan Publishers

Villanova English alum Kelly Moran, now a publicity assistant at St. Martin's Press, just alerted us to some exciting internships that Macmillan Publishers (which own's St. Martin's) is offering at its offices in New York City (see below). This is an ideal opportunity for anyone interested in publishing. 

Kelly says that the internships are not just for her department, though if you are interested in doing publicity for St. Martin's Press, then you should mention on your cover letter. "Macmillan is currently offering paid internship opportunities for Fall 2019. Internships are available in areas such as: Editorial, Marketing, Publicity, Art & Design, Sales, Production, Children’s Books, and Business Development. Please specify your areas of interest in your cover letter.

Interns will be provided with the opportunity to participate in work related assignments, gain practical work experience, and network with employees from various departments. Overall, the intern will become familiar with the basic structure of a publishing house and the role of each department within.

The Macmillan fall internship program is available to candidates who have graduated high school, are over the age of 18, are eligible to work in the U.S. and aspire to pursue a career in the publishing industry. Internships are anticipated to start in early September or mid-September and will continue through December. If needed, there may be some flexibility in regards to the duration of the internship.

Fall Internship Opportunity: Bravo Group, PR company in Wayne, PA

Villanova English alum Julia Rose Clarke recently contacted us to let us know about an exciting internship opportunity based down the road in Wayne for the coming fall semester. Here is the announcement for the position:

Responsibilities include: 
  • Contact appropriate media on behalf of clients

  • Prior Internship experience (in an office setting) is highly preferred

  • Political campaign experience a plus
