Former Villanova English major ('99) Marie-Helene Bertino will have her debut collection of short stories,
Safe as Houses, published in October. One of the stories, "Great, Wondrous," was inspired by Bertino's experience as a student at Villanova. Bertino was the winner of the 2012 Iowa Short Fiction Award for her collection.
