Villanova English Hosts Finals Week Study Session

Villanova English hosted its first ever Finals Week Study Session on Monday. English Majors worked on their papers and prepared for exams while munching on sandwiches and cookies. Many thanks to graduate student Alex Brodin, who was on hand to answer questions and help students with their writing, and to special guest Truffle, Dr. Hicks's dog, for the cuteness.

The Great Bard Bake-Off

The department celebrated Shakespeare's 452nd birthday with The Great Bard Bake-Off--featuring Shakespeare-themed cakes baked by the Graduate English students.  Guests voted for their favorite dessert, and Laura Tscherry triumphed with her Rosemary Lemon tart (aka "And Rosemary and Lemon Tart, That's for Remembrance").

English Coffee Break on Thursday

You’re all invited to our first spring Coffee Break this Thursday afternoon (Feb. 11).  This time it’s the Valentine’s edition, and it features Dr. Travis Foster’s famous brownies along with Valentine's Day chocolates and (of course) coffee.  Readings of great love poetry are optional.

We also just received a new shipment of the English department T-shirts that we unveiled last year, which were all sold out. You can buy a shirt for just $10, or maybe even win one in a raffle!
